Shocking Church Incident: Priest Bites Woman over Holy Communion Dispute

A shocking incident occurred at a Sunday Mass on May 24, when a priest allegedly bit a woman during an altercation over Holy Communion. The confrontation took place around 10 am, leaving the congregation in disbelief.

According to an eyewitness, the trouble began when a woman joined the communion line but seemed unfamiliar with the procedure. The priest, attempting to give her the sacrament on the tongue, faced resistance. The woman forcefully placed her hand into the bowl containing the sacraments, crushing them. In an attempt to stop her, the priest bit her hand.

The church provided a different version of events. They claimed that the woman tried to grab the bowl of sacraments and began crushing them. To protect the Holy Communion, the priest pushed her away and ultimately bit her hand to prevent further desecration. After the incident, the priest asked the woman to leave the church.

The Diocese of Orlando defended the priest, stating that he was trying to protect the sacrament, which symbolizes the body of Christ. “While the Diocese of Orlando does not condone physical altercations such as this, in good faith, Father Rodriguez was simply attempting to prevent an act of desecration of the Holy Communion,” the Diocese said.

However, some witnesses suggested that the woman might have been denied communion due to her dress or sexuality. This denial reportedly led to the confrontation.

As of now, the priest has not been charged with any crime. Authorities are still investigating, and it’s unclear if the woman sustained any serious injuries during the altercation.

This incident highlights the importance of understanding and respecting religious procedures, as well as the need for compassionate handling of misunderstandings within a religious context.
