Former US President Joe Biden Diagnosed with Prostate Cancer

Joe Biden, the former U.S. president and a man who’s weathered more storms than most, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. And it’s not just the kind of doctors who hope to catch early. This one’s spread to his bones. It’s serious. It’s painful. And it’s personal not just for him, but for a country that’s followed his every step.

He’s 82 now. A man who’s spent half a century in public service, who’s endured the death of his wife and daughter in a tragic crash, and who stood strong when his son, Beau Biden, lost his life to brain cancer in 2015. And now? Cancer has come knocking again, this time at his door.

The diagnosis came after Biden began showing urinary symptoms, and doctors found a nodule on his prostate. The test results? Grim. A Gleason score of 9 out of 10, meaning it’s about as aggressive as it gets. But there’s one silver lining: the cancer is hormone-sensitive. That means there’s a shot at managing it, slowing it down. Treatment is being reviewed.

Donald Trump, Biden’s longtime rival, put politics aside for a moment to offer his wishes for a “fast and successful recovery.” A rare moment of grace in a sea of bitterness.

Kamala Harris, who took over the Democratic ticket after Biden stepped down from last year’s election race, shared a powerful message: “Joe is a fighter.”  From family loss to political comebacks, Biden has never been one to quit.

Biden also led Obama’s “Cancer Moonshot” project. For him, fighting cancer was never just policy. It was personal. And now, it’s even more so.

Hormone therapy might slow the cancer, but it’s not a cure. His body may be tired, but if history tells us anything it’s that Joe Biden doesn’t go down without a fight.
