Veteran reggae hypeman John Maina, famously known as MC Fullstop, has died after a prolonged struggle with lung tuberculosis. The respected entertainer, who once ruled Kenya’s reggae scene, had publicly battled the illness for years. He became a household name for his vibrant energy and signature voice that hyped countless reggae shows across Kenya, both live and on TV.
In recent years, Fullstop was forced to confront rumors that circulated widely online. In response, he came forward to dispel the false reports and gave an emotional update on his declining health. He expressed frustration over netizens who spread unverified news about his condition. “This is not the end,” he had insisted in earlier statements.
Photos later surfaced of him in a hospital bed, looking frail and weak, which sparked nationwide concern. He revealed that the tuberculosis had caused him to lose both his voice and one of his lungs, two things that defined not just his career, but his identity.
