Nicki Minaj and Cardi B Resume Online Beef with Explosive Insults

The long-running feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B has flared up again, this time during the rollout of Cardi’s sophomore album, Am I The Drama. What began as subtle jabs on social media quickly escalated into a full-on exchange of personal and professional insults that has once again divided fans across hip hop.
What triggered the latest round of insults?
Nicki Minaj sparked the clash when she took to X (formerly Twitter) and questioned the authenticity of Cardi B’s album sales. She implied that Cardi had inflated her numbers yet still fell short of outselling her. Minaj then shifted her attacks to Cardi’s personal life, aiming at her pregnancy with boyfriend Steffon Diggs, her looks, family, and BBL, in a series of now-deleted posts.
“A b c d e f Gree,” she tweeted.
“Sur ger ree to look like meee. A b c d e f g
Rap like Barney still UGLEEEBarney B
Raw doggin pregnant with da 4th babeeeee. Barney B.BV HPV allegedlyyyyy.”
The pointed tweets did not go unnoticed. Cardi B, who recently addressed criticism over her pregnancy while still legally married to Offset, wasted no time in clapping back.
How did Cardi B respond?
In fiery posts of her own, Cardi dismissed Nicki as “Cocaine Barbie” and accused her of clinging to comparisons with younger artists while failing to measure up to her true peers.
“Why do you keep bringing up my album? It’s not the gag that you think it is. You’ve been in the game like 16 years, you need to compare yourself to YOUR peers that started around your time..Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake, those are the numbers you should be competing with, and you can’t because you’re doing lower than all of them. I was in high school when you came out. wtf are you comparing yourself to me?”
Cardi went even further, responding to Nicki’s pregnancy jabs with claims that the rapper had sought fertility treatments. “Alright now, this is the third tweet talking about my pregnancy, like you weren’t going to different fertility doctors cuz you couldn’t reproduce from all the percs scrambling your eggs. NOT ALLEGEDLY, lord protect my babies.”
This renewed round of insults is just the latest chapter in a rivalry that dates back to 2017, when both rappers appeared on Migos’ hit single Motorsport. Tensions exploded in 2018 when Cardi B famously threw a shoe at Nicki Minaj during a MET Gala afterparty altercation.
Now, with Cardi’s new album in circulation, the hostility between the two remains as sharp as ever. If history is any indication, fans can expect more verbal blows in the weeks to come as both women continue to defend their music, their legacies, and their personal lives in the public eye.
