Octopizzo Mourns Death of His Longtime Manager Ongaya Vick

Kenyan rapper Octopizzo is mourning the death of his close friend and longtime manager, Ongaya Vick, popularly known as @cheekszone. Sharing the heartbreaking news, Octopizzo described Vick as more than a manager, a mentor, a visionary, and the backbone of his music journey.

“It is with profound sorrow that I announce the passing of my manager and dear friend, Mr. Ongaya Vick @cheekszone,” he wrote. “He was the only person who saw potential in me when many, not even myself, thought this rap thing would work for us.”

How Ongaya Vick Shaped Octopizzo’s Career

Octopizzo credited Vick for building the Octopizzo brand since 2009, calling him “the creative force behind everything.” He added, “His faith in me shaped not only my career but also the person I’ve become. Losing him feels like losing a part of myself.”

The rapper expressed deep heartbreak over the loss, describing Vick as “a true confidant and big brother.”

Friends and family have begun gathering at Ongaya Vick’s Woodley residence for funeral arrangements. His burial will take place at his family home in Kakamega, where loved ones will celebrate his life and legacy.

“May his soul rest in eternal peace,” Octopizzo concluded.
