Pain in Githurai as Newly-Wedded Man Killed Just 40 Days After Wedding

Residents of Githurai 45 are mourning the tragic death of 27-year-old Frankline Gatukui, who was killed only 40 days after marrying the love of his life, Naomi Wambui. The young couple had exchanged vows on September 13, 2025, at AIPCA Kiuu Church in Thika Diocese, in a beautiful ceremony officiated by Bishop Samuel Mburu.

Frank’s life was cut short on the evening of Monday, October 20, after an attack in the Kasarani area. According to reports, the incident occurred around 5:20 p.m., leaving family and friends devastated and searching for answers. “We are deeply saddened to announce the untimely passing of Frankline Gatukui. On 13th September 2025, barely a month ago, he entered into holy matrimony with his beloved wife Naomi Wambui in a beautiful wedding ceremony officiated by Bishop Samuel Mburu at AIPCA Kiuu Church in Thika Diocese,” read a statement shared by a member of the AIPCA church community.

How Did the Community React to Frank’s Death?

Following the heartbreaking news, AIPCA Bishop Peterson Njenga sent a condolence message to the bereaved family. “What a tragic loss. My condolences to Naomi, the Waweru family, friends, and the entire community. May God grant them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Frankline Gatukui. May his memory be a blessing to those who knew him. AIPCA Kiuu fraternity and Thika mother Diocese poleni sana,” he wrote.

On social media, emotional tributes poured in as friends shared clips and photos from Frank’s wedding, struggling to accept that the man they had celebrated weeks earlier was now gone.

TikTok user @Essy_lastie expressed her disbelief, writing: “It’s so sad 😭😭 just a month ago we celebrated this couple, little we didn’t know that their happiness, joy, and laughter would be gone within a month 💔💔😭 still in shock and disbelief that Frank, you are no more 😭😭😭 May your soul rest in peace, champion.”

Another user, @Symoh, shared a photo from the wedding with the caption: “Rest in peace Mr Frank,” while @Raho wrote: “Forty days after your wedding, and now you are no more.”
