Veteran journalist Jeff Koinange has finally addressed his absence from television after weeks of speculation about his whereabouts. The celebrated Citizen TV anchor, best known for hosting Jeff Koinange Live (JKL), had been off the air for several weeks, prompting online debates about whether he had left the station or was dealing with health issues.

In a short video shared by radio presenter Maina Kageni, Jeff appeared cheerful and energetic as he assured fans that he was doing well and would soon return to their screens. “Hey folks, Jeff Koinange here. Just want to let you know that all is good all the time, and I am going to be back very soon. Sooner than you know. So hang in there. Thanks for your support,” he said.

The clip showed the two media personalities walking together, laughing, and catching up, a clear sign that Jeff was in good spirits. Maina captioned the video on TikTok to shut down the rumours, writing, “Jeff is doing great and will be back on our screens very soon.”

What Sparked the Concern About Jeff’s Absence?

Jeff’s absence from JKL had sparked widespread speculation online, with hashtags like #WhereIsJeffKoinange trending as fans sought answers. Some users suggested he had resigned from Citizen TV, while others speculated he was battling illness. The silence surrounding his break only fueled more curiosity.

However, the latest update from both Jeff and Maina has reassured fans that the TV legend is simply taking some time off and will soon resume his usual spot behind the news desk.

Social media users flooded comment sections with relief and excitement following the update. One fan, @Brigan Musamia, wrote, “Tell Jee that I stopped watching JKL because he is not there. Tell him to speed up whatever he is doing and come back. This is from my heart. We miss him so much.”

Another user, @Gladys Okeri, commented, “We miss you very much, Jeff.” Others chimed in with similar sentiments, describing how they missed his trademark phrase and signature laughter that have made him one of Kenya’s most loved broadcasters.
