Kikuyu content creator Mbote Njogu kicked off his Mombasa tour with an honest take on why he finds content creation more rewarding than a regular 8-5 job.

In a video shared on his TikTok page on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Mbote appeared relaxed by the ocean, reflecting on how his flexible career allows him to enjoy life without being tied to an office routine. “At this hour, life is just flowing. Some people are in offices at this time, but I am here by the ocean on a Wednesday, soaking in the sea and feeling calm,” he said.

He laughed as he shared how strange it felt knowing that while he was swimming at 3 p.m., many of his friends were still confined to office desks, waiting for the clock to hit five. For Mbote, that kind of freedom is one of the biggest perks of being a creator.

He then jokingly pointed out that sometimes, not being overly educated can work in one’s favor when pursuing a creative path. “You are in an office waiting for the time to go home. Sometimes it is even better not to have studied,” he said.

Why Does Mbote Prefer Content Creation to Office Life?

Mbote has built a strong reputation as one of Kenya’s fastest-rising Kikuyu content creators, securing frequent brand deals and collaborations that have turned his passion into a full-time career. His success shows how digital creativity can open doors to financial independence and personal freedom that traditional jobs often don’t provide.

Much of his content centers around Mugiithi singer Wanjiru wa Waya, with whom he stages humorous domestic skits that explore everyday relationship drama. Their comedic chemistry has earned them a loyal fanbase that eagerly awaits every upload.

The duo’s sketches thrive on role reversals, with Mbote often playing Wanjiru’s husband while she acts as his wife. This setup flips typical gender expectations and gives their comedy a relatable twist. They’re frequently joined by Njoki wa Ndegwa, popularly known as Komanda, who plays their clever and mischievous househelp.

A recurring theme in their videos is marital infidelity, presented with humor and chaos that keeps fans entertained. Mbote’s character often lands in trouble after being caught in compromising situations, prompting explosive reactions from Wanjiru’s character.
