Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya is making the most of his 10-day international working tour across Europe and the United States, sharing both his excitement and personal growth along the way. In a lighthearted update posted on Instagram on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Salasya said the trip has helped him improve his English and boosted his confidence while interacting with influential people during flights and official engagements.

His travels have taken him through major cities, with much of his journey spent in business class, a setting he described as eye-opening and transformative. According to the MP, being surrounded by global leaders, business executives, and professionals has pushed him to communicate more fluently. Even with the long hours spent in the air, he expressed eagerness to return home and narrate his experiences to his constituents in Mumias East.
“Yani ukiingia business class hapa you are meeting with who is who 😂 😆 😂 😆 wanashangaa huyu kijana mdogo mweupe na shaggy hair anapatikana aje hapa kwa wadoz eeeeei kweli am not for a lesser God. Kizungu imeimprove sasa nasikia kizungu ya mapua kama maji wacha nirudi mumias east nipigie wamama wangu story how america looks like and to be in air for 36 hours,” Salasya wrote.

What does Salasya plan to achieve during his tour?

The MP’s international tour, which began in late November, includes official activities in London and several cities in the United States. Throughout these visits, Salasya is meeting investors, development partners, and Kenyans living abroad. He noted that the trip is supported by the PK Salasya Foundation, an organisation that aims to create global opportunities for the advancement of development initiatives in Mumias East and across Kenya.

His engagements abroad are structured to provide room for broader discussions about his long-term presidential vision for a just and economically resilient Kenya. In each meeting, Salasya intends to highlight the development needs of his constituency while presenting Kenya as a promising destination for sustainable investments. These discussions focus on attracting projects that can deliver meaningful employment opportunities, especially for the youth.

How will Mumias East benefit from the partnerships formed?

Salasya explained that the partnerships shaping this tour will directly support initiatives back home. Notably, this year’s edition of the PK Salasya Classic Cup, his annual youth sports tournament, will be sponsored through these collaborations. The tournament is designed to nurture young talent, promote social cohesion, and create positive pathways for young people.

As his tour continues, Salasya maintains that every interaction is part of a larger effort to secure lasting development opportunities. He remains confident that the connections made abroad will strengthen ongoing projects and open doors to new investments aimed at improving the lives of residents in Mumias East.
