FIFA Unveils Trionda, the Official Ball of the 2026 World Cup

FIFA has officially introduced Trionda, the match ball for the 2026 World Cup, a tournament set to be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Designed by Adidas, which has supplied every World Cup ball since 1970, Trionda blends advanced technology with cultural symbolism from the three host nations.
“I am delighted and proud to present the Trionda,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino said during the launch in New York on Thursday.
What makes Trionda unique?
The design reflects the unity of the co-hosts. Red, blue, and green dominate the ball’s color scheme, representing each country. Iconography includes maple leaves for Canada, Mexico’s eagle, and stars for the United States. A triangular motif ties them together, symbolizing the first World Cup hosted by three nations and featuring 48 teams.
Beyond its look, Trionda comes with innovative features. Deep seams are engineered for optimal in-flight stability, while embossed icons improve grip in humid or wet conditions. Most notably, the ball contains a motion sensor chip that sends real-time movement data to the VAR system.
The ball will debut at the 2026 World Cup, scheduled for June 11 to July 19. With over 4.5 million fans from 216 countries already in the presale draw for tickets, excitement is building. The official tournament draw is set for December 5 in Washington.
