TikToker Selfie Man Accuses Eric Omondi of Being Paid to Attack the Government

What Did Selfie Man Say about Eric Omondi’s Activism?

TikToker Selfie Man has caused a stir online after alleging that comedian and activist Eric Omondi’s recent activism is not genuine. In an interview, the content creator claimed that Eric is funded by powerful elites to criticize the government, suggesting that his advocacy work is driven by money rather than passion for change.

According to Selfie Man, the comedian disappears from the public eye once he receives payment, only to reappear when there is controversy to fuel. “He is sponsored by the elite to fight against the government. When he is paid, he disappears from the internet. If he had stayed consistent, he would have become the leader of Gen Zs. But he is wishy-washy,” he stated.

The comments quickly went viral, sparking widespread debate on social media. While some users supported Selfie Man’s claims, a large section of Kenyans came to Eric Omondi’s defense, saying his record of activism speaks for itself.

How Fans Reacted to Selfie Man’s Accusations

Many social media users dismissed Selfie Man’s statements as attention-seeking. Several people pointed out that Eric Omondi has consistently used his platform to help struggling Kenyans and champion social causes, often out of his own pocket.

One user, @jannieokinyo, wrote, “That’s a fight he won’t win..” while @gitari_n added, “You can’t fight Eric or Khaligraph. Those won Kenyans’ hearts long time ago.” Another user, @boboishnjoroge, told Selfie Man, “Let them pay you instead. Keep off Eric Omondi.”

Others went further, accusing Selfie Man of being the one paid to attack Eric. @jumbamadridista commented, “I think he’s the one who’s been paid by the government to try tarnish Eric Omondi’s name.”

The exchange has fueled fresh debate about authenticity in Kenya’s online activism scene. Despite the criticism, Eric Omondi’s supporters continue to celebrate his influence, insisting that his work has inspired and uplifted many struggling Kenyans across the country.
