DJ Mo Says He Trained Betty Bayo as a DJ Before Her Music Career

Samuel Muraya, popularly known as DJ Mo, has shared a lesser-known chapter of the late Betty Bayo’s journey, revealing that she was first trained as a DJ before becoming a celebrated gospel musician. Speaking on a podcast aired on Thursday, December 18, 2025, DJ Mo explained that he met Betty long before her rise in music, at a time when both of them were still finding their footing in the entertainment industry.
According to DJ Mo, their first interaction happened when he was operating from a studio at Anniversary Towers. He recalled being surprised when a young woman confidently walked into his space and expressed interest in learning how to DJ. “Betty has been my friend for so long.
