The Kenyan TikTok community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of one of its own, Milly Wa Doc, whose real name was Milcah Nyatuga Murang’a. Known for her warm personality and relatable content, Milly passed away just a month after getting married in a private ceremony.
Her sudden death on Tuesday, June 3, shocked fans across the country. Milly died while receiving treatment at a hospital in Nakuru, where she had been living. Her brother, DJ Sleek, confirmed the sad news, saying he was notified while away at the Coast and was preparing to travel back to Nakuru.
“The only information I have is that she is dead. I’ll give more details after I see her body,” DJ Sleek told TUKO News, his voice heavy with grief.
Milly’s cousin, Lydia Nyabuto, also posted an emotional message on TikTok: “My cousin is gone.” When asked to speak further, Lydia said she wasn’t ready to talk, still clearly shaken by the tragedy.
What makes her death even more painful is the timing. Just a few weeks ago, Milly tied the knot with her partner Odeke in a quiet ceremony at the Attorney General’s office. Although she usually shared a lot about her personal life online, she chose to keep this special moment private.

Fans have flooded social media with messages of shock and sorrow. Comments poured in, many expressing disbelief and reflecting on how short life can be.
“The way she loved her kids… may her soul rest in peace,” one user wrote.
“Ni juzi tuu aliolewa. What happened? Life is too short,” said another.
At a family meeting held the evening after her death, her close friend Monica, who had been by her side during her illness, shared what happened. Monica explained that Milly had a cyst and went in for surgery. Sadly, she lost a lot of blood during the procedure and had to get a blood transfusion. She was later discharged, but her health never fully recovered.
Further tests revealed she was suffering from kidney failure. Despite being put on medication immediately, Milly’s condition worsened, and she passed away while still undergoing treatment.
Her husband, Odeke, who was with her throughout the difficult time, has taken a break to rest. The family acknowledged that he spent long hours at the hospital and needed time to recover emotionally.
