
Popular Kenyan comedian and content creator Guka wa Nyumba Kumi has been hospitalised after being diagnosed with pneumonia, a revelation that left his fans deeply concerned. Known for his humorous skits that have attracted over 700,000 followers on Facebook, Guka recently shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed, asking his followers to keep him in their prayers.
What happened to Guka wa Nyumba Kumi?
Following a wave of concern from fans online, Guka explained that he had been struggling with chest complications for a long time but had often ignored them, relying on over-the-counter medication. However, his condition worsened recently, forcing him to seek medical help.
“The other day at night, my chest condition got worse, and yesterday morning I ended up in the hospital (Sagana Cottage), where I was examined, had an X-ray, and lab tests done,” he shared. Despite feeling unwell, the comedian continued with his daily activities and even dropped off his director at an event before heading back to the hospital for his results.

What Illness Was Guka Diagnosed With?
Doctors later informed him that he had unknowingly been living with pneumonia, a condition that could have become fatal if left untreated. “I went back to collect my results before heading to the event, only to be told that I have been walking around with an illness without knowing it., if it had continued, it would have been fatal: Pneumonia,” he revealed.
Although he initially preferred to take medication from home, doctors insisted on admitting him for closer medical observation. Guka shared that he is now responding well to treatment and expects to be discharged soon. “I’m receiving treatment here and feeling better, hoping to be discharged after five days as instructed. May God bless you abundantly for your concern and prayers,” he added.
Since his admission, several comedians and content creators have visited him in the hospital, while fans continue to flood his comment section with uplifting messages. Among those wishing him well were Mc Muthee Ndegenye, Wamiti The Brand, and John K. Ndegwa, all expressing hope for his quick recovery.
